Welcome to MD Silver & Stone.

My name is Melissa and I am the artist and metalsmith behind MD Silver & Stone.

Making jewelry began as a creative outlet for me, but it quickly became something much more meaningful. I fell in love with the process of transforming raw materials into something beautiful and lasting. I found that there is something incredibly rewarding about taking a sheet of silver and a stone formed by the earth over a million years ago and turning it into a piece of jewelry that someone will wear, treasure, and make a part of their own story.  

Each piece is handcrafted in sterling silver using traditional metalsmithing techniques in my home studio in Southern Wisconsin. I carefully select every stone for its unique character, allowing its natural beauty to guide the design process. No two stones are exactly alike, which means every piece I create carries its own story.

I believe jewelry should be more than an accessory. It should be personal. It should evoke a memory, celebrate a milestone, or simply bring joy to the person wearing it. My goal is to create meaningful pieces that help people feel connected—to nature, to themselves, and to the moments that matter most.
